Summer Counselor Support Assistant

Location: Office of Career Services, 54 Dunster St.
Hours:
8-10/hrs a week
Pay: $9-11/hr
Description: Assists Career Advising, Education Services, and Premed Advising Assistant with administrative work supporting OCS counselors, resources, and programs. Assists with projects such as creating and organizing materials and handouts for OCS workshops, assisting with mailings, and planning ideas for the next academic year. In addition, assists with Dossier related tasks. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and self-directed. Some experience working in an office setting preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.

Summer Reception Assistant

Location: Office of Career Services, 54 Dunster St.
Hours:
35 hours/week (9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday)
Pay: $10 - $12/hr, depending on experience
Description: Assists in instructing clients about the full range of OCS services, resources and programs.  Serves as a primary contact for a diverse and complex population, consisting of students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, employers and the general public.  Delivers quality customer service by providing accurate information both in person and over the phone.  Answers a multi-line telephone, schedules and announces appointments, checks ID cards.  Data entry required and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse population.  Must enjoy working with clients and providing excellent customer service.  Team player with exceptional communication skills.  Well-organized and pays close attention to details.  Has a high level of self-direction and sense of prioritization.  Excellent telephone skills are essential.  Reliability is extremely important.  Some experience working in an office setting is preferable and knowledge of Harvard is a plus.  Must be able to commit to working for the entire summer (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) with the exception of University holidays.
