- How to I participate in On-Campus Recruiting (OCR)? To participate in On-Campus Recruiting, which includes being able to apply to OCR positions and use the Interviews tab on Crimson Careers, students must complete the Sign-up Process.
- Why are there so many rules in the OCR Program? The Policies and Procedures have been developed to maximize the opportunities for students while ensuring fairness among students, among employers, and in their interactions with each other.
- What is Crimson Careers? Crimson Careers is OCS's new online database to help students connect with full-time and internship opportunities. All current FAS students already have access to jobs and internship posted exclusively to Harvard students, opportunities posted by Harvard Affiliates, internships posted by our consortia partners, and OCR jobs and internships through Crimson Careers. However, to apply to OCR positions, students must still register with the On-Campus Recruiting Program to gain OCR access rights (see OCR Sign-up Process)
- An employer does not indicate on Crimson Careers that they want a cover letter, should I attach one anyway? For OCS opportunities, each employer has individual specifications and needs, so demonstrate your ability to pay attention to details and follow instructions by providing exactly the documents requested, no more and no less.
- Can employers see the saved document names on Crimson Careers? Yes! Be careful to name your documents carefully. For example, you do not want to send a document called “Consulting Letter” to a non-profit organization!
- How do I attach my GPA or SAT scores? If an employer requests GPA and/or SAT scores, simply include them in your resume. A separate document is not necessary.
- Do I need an official copy of my transcript? No! You may use your “FAS Registrar’s Student Record” in lieu of your official transcript. See the Transcript Page for specific information about scanning and uploading your transcript.
- Why is the employer asking me to apply on their website in addition to Crimson Careers? Some employers, whether for legal or tracking purposes, require students to also complete applications through the organization’s website. If an online application is required, the employers web address will be given, and you must complete BOTH the online application at the company website and the Crimson Careers application to be considered for a campus interview.
