You have found a career field that interests you. But you still might be asking:
Answers to these questions are best received from people working in the field. Harvard alumni are often more than willing to provide advice and feedback, and we encourage students to contact their undergraduate institutions for access to their alumni as well.
Networking resources:
Once you have settled on a particular area of interest, find out if there is a trade association that provides services such as continuing education, conferences, job listings, or a membership directory. A wonderful resource is Associations Unlimited, a searchable database of trade associations available through the eResources section of the Harvard Libraries web site. Some trade associations offer discounted student memberships, which can be a great way to meet people and learn more about different industries.
In addition, check out the Discussion Groups section of the Harvard Alumni Association web site. Several groups are related to specific career interests or geographic areas.
