Counselors work confidentially with GSAS students and alumni on a wide range of career-related issues, from broad self-assessment and decision-making to specific advice on resume, CV, and cover letter preparation for academic and nonacademic job searches.
GSAS counselors are available for appointments and during walk-in hours. Please call 617-495-2595 (option 0) to schedule an appointment or check for current walk-in schedules.
Please note that at this time post-docs are not eligible for counseling unless they are alumni of Harvard College or GSAS.

Robin Mount, EdD,
Senior Associate Director, OCS; Director, GSAS and PhD Advising
Robin Mount is Senior Associate Director of the Office of Career Services and Director of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and PhD Advising. She has a Doctoral degree in Comparitive Human Development from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her dissertation was part of an NIH
longitudinal
study and examined how adult language influences cognitive development in young children. Prior to coming to the Office of Career Services, she was on the faculty and Associate Dean of Graduate Programs at Wheelock College in Boston.
Laura Malisheski, PhD, Assistant Director, GSAS and PhD Advising
Laura Malisheski holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Yale University. Her graduate and postdoctoral research focused on the developmental emergence and neurobiological mechanisms of learning in sea slugs and zebra finches. Laura is currently Assistant Director for Graduate Student and PhD Advising at the Office of Career Services. She has been counseling graduate students as well as undergraduates considering graduate school for six years.
Sharon Belden, MA, EdM, Assistant Director, GSAS and PhD Advising
Sharon Belden joined OCS part time in the fall of 2004 as a GSAS specialist. She also has worked for a number of business and law schools, including Boston University, where she taught a course on career management completed by incoming MBA students.
She is a full-time doctoral candidate in human development and psychology at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where her research focuses on career influences on Generation X in the business world.
A graduate of Smith College, she holds master's degrees from the University of Michigan and Harvard.
