Counselors work confidentially with GSAS students and alumni on a wide range of career-related issues, from broad self-assessment and decision-making to specific advice on resume, CV, and cover letter preparation for academic and nonacademic job searches.
GSAS counselors are available for appointments and during walk-in hours: generally Monday's 1:00-4:00pm. Please call 617-495-2595 (option 0) to schedule an appointment or check for current walk-in schedules.
Please note that at this time post-docs are not eligible for counseling unless they are alumni of Harvard College or GSAS.

Robin Mount, EdD, Interim Director, OCS; Director, GSAS and PhD Advising
Robin Mount has a Doctoral degree in Comparitive Human Development from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her dissertation was part of an NIH longitudinal study and examined how adult language influences cognitive development in young children. Prior to coming to the Office of Career Services, she was on the faculty and Associate Dean of Graduate Programs at Wheelock College in Boston.
Laura Malisheski, PhD, Assistant Director, GSAS and PhD Advising
Laura Malisheski holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Yale University. Her graduate and postdoctoral research focused on the developmental emergence and neurobiological mechanisms of learning in sea slugs and zebra finches. Laura is currently Assistant Director for Graduate Student and PhD Advising at the Office of Career Services. She has been counseling graduate students as well as undergraduates considering graduate school for eight years.
Amy Sanford, M.S., Assistant Director, GSAS and PhD Advising
Amy provides career counseling to PhD students - primarily those interested in transitioning from academia to the business world. She has particular expertise in the specific needs of international students looking to work in the US. Amy herself has lived in France and Germany and traveled in 45 countries. She has worked in the private sector and at two business schools in the Boston area (where she focused on international student career development). Amy holds a master's in educational psychology and counseling from Northeastern University and earned her A.B. from Bowdoin College in English Literature and Studio Art.
