The following medical schools require mathematics. Medical schools that simply recommend mathematics are not listed. For more information on a specific school’s policy as well as updated information, please check the Medical School Admissions Requirements book (MSAR) or visit the school’s website.
In general, medical schools require students to have fulfilled the math requirement prior to matriculation. This means that if you have not taken a particular math requirement before applying, you most likely will be accepted but will be required to complete the course prior to matriculation (for example, the summer before med school begins).
Please note that some science courses at Harvard have math prerequisites, so be sure to check these in planning your course sequences. However, many students find that they do not need to take additional math at Harvard in order to meet the requirements for medical school.
